Amazon India partners with Future Retail

Amazon India has partnered with the nation’s second-largest retail chain to expand its sales in there.

The firm has made a long-term business agreement with Future Retail, extending the local retailer’s reach beyond its 1500 physical locations within India by leveraging Amazon’s platform.

The agreement will see Amazon become Future Retail’s authorised online sales channel, covering its Big Bazaar and Foodhall grocery and lifestyle chains. The product focus will cover groceries, general merchandise, fashion, apparel and beauty products.

The pair have already launched their augmented packaging and pickup services in 22 Future Retail stores.

The partnership will “allow us to build upon each other’s strengths in the physical and digital space so that customers benefit from the best services, products, assortment and price,” said Future Retail chairman and MD Kishore Biyani.

“Future Retail’s national footprint of stores offering thousands of products across fashion, appliances, home, kitchen and grocery will now be available to millions of customers shopping on Amazon.in, in hours across 25+ cities,” said Amazon India SVP and country head Amit Agarwal.
